Brave Little Wooden Friend

A wooden toy dreams of becoming real by learning to tell the truth and being brave.

Once upon a time, in a cozy workshop filled with wood shavings and the sweet smell of pine, there lived a kind old toymaker named Geppetto. His hands were wrinkled but steady, and his eyes sparkled with creativity. One magical evening, as moonlight streamed through the dusty windows, he carved a very special wooden puppet from a piece of enchanted oak. "I shall call you Pinocchio," whispered Geppetto, carefully painting bright blue eyes and rosy cheeks on the little wooden face. That night, something extraordinary happened. A beautiful blue fairy appeared in a shower of silver sparkles. She touched Pinocchio with her wand, and suddenly, the little puppet blinked his painted eyes! "I can move! I can talk!" Pinocchio exclaimed, wiggling his wooden fingers in amazement. Geppetto was overjoyed to have a son at last. He dressed Pinocchio in a little red vest and yellow pants, and taught him how to walk without tangling his strings. But Pinocchio was curious about everything. "What is that bright thing outside?" he asked, pressing his wooden nose against the window. "That is the sun," said Geppetto. "And those are birds, and trees, and a whole wonderful world waiting to be explored. But first, you must go to school and learn to be a real boy." The next morning, Geppetto gave Pinocchio a shiny red apple for his teacher and a spelling book with golden letters. "Remember," said Geppetto, hugging his wooden son, "always be brave, truthful, and kind. These are the things that make a real boy." Pinocchio promised to be good and skipped down the cobblestone street toward school, not knowing that his greatest adventure was just beginning.
